Cristina Aldrich continues as CSA Curatorial Fellow at the Meadows Museum

The Meadows Museum and the Center for Spain in America (CSA) are pleased to extend Cristina Sol Arnedo Aldrich’s CSA Curatorial Fellowship into a third year. During the second year she curated the exhibition Unearthing the Legacy of Islamic Spain (September 15, 2024 – January 5, 2025), presented chapters from her dissertation Inventing the Immutable Virgin: Medieval Sculpture for a Multiconfessional Castilian Society at three major conferences, and delivered three invited lectures on Walter W.S. Cook, a key scholar of medieval Spain. In her third year she will continue to support the curatorial department, contributing to upcoming exhibitions—such as one on the Camino de Santiago—researching the permanent collection, and strengthening cross-departmental programming at the Meadows. She will also continue to lead the Madinat al-Zahra 3D Capital Digitization and Research Collaborative, a cross-disciplinary initiative linking art history, archaeology, and engineering, which will be presented at the Middle East Studies Association (MESA) Conference in Washington, DC, this November. Alongside these efforts, she plans to complete the writing of her dissertation during this academic year.
