José de Nebra. Responsorios de Navidad, nominated for the 2026 International Classical Music Awards (ICMA)

The new album by La Grande Chapelle and Lauda Música, José de Nebra. Responsorios de Navidad (LAU026), has been nominated for the 2026 International Classical Music Awards (ICMA), one of the most prestigious accolades in the international recording industry.

The ICMA jury – made up of specialists from 18 countries and representatives from leading European publications – has selected 307 recordings from 101 European, Asian and American labels. Being included in this selection highlights the artistic and scientific significance of the project.

For the first time in the modern era, the recording presents the complete series of Christmas Matins Responsories composed by José de Nebra in 1752, retrieved from surviving sources.

The project was sponsored by the CEEH and the Fundación Tatiana, with support from the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) and the regional government of Madrid (department of Culture, Tourism and Sports), and was implemented in collaboration with the Centro Europeo de la Música (CEM). The sound recording was made by Philipp Hobbs (Linn Records) and the album is part of the Musica Poetica collection published by Editorial CSIC.

The complete list of nominations can be found on the official website of the ICMA.
