La Grande Chapelle holds a concert organised by the CEEH and the CEM
At 9 pm on 8 October La Grande Chapelle, conducted by Albert Recasens, is performing a concert devoted to Domenico Scarlatti and José de Nebra, two composers linked to the eighteenth-century court of Madrid, at the National Palace of Mafra (Portugal). It brings together their Stabat Mater and two Salve Regina in a programme where the audience can rediscover the sacred music of the Bourbon era and the cultural ties between Spain, Italy and Portugal.
This exceptional concert is organised by the Centro de Estudios Europa Hispánica (CEEH) and the Centro Europeo de Música (CEM) in collaboration with Mafra council. It is part of a project that also includes the recording and production of a CD entitled Domenico Scarlatti y José de Nebra: ‘Stabat Mater’ and is likewise part of the CEM’s pan-European Via Scarlatti programme.
