García Prieto, Elisa

Elisa García Prieto earned her PhD in History from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with a dissertation on Isabel Clara Eugenia. She is curator at the Royal Monastery of El Escorial (Patrimonio Nacional). She has collaborated on numerous exhibitions and published extensively on collecting and patronage at the court of Philip II, and on the Monastery of El Escorial in the 16th century. She has studied several women from Philip II’s family and is the author of A Court in the Feminine. Court Service and Courtly Career in the Time of Philip II (2018).
