Meyer, Véronique

Véronique Meyer is a professor of the History of Modern Art at the University of Poitiers. She is a specialist in French engraving from the late seventeenth to the early nineteenth centuries and has worked on the dissemination and sale of prints, the history of taste and the role of collectors, engraved portraits and the relationship between text and image in printed books, and so-called popular and landscape prints. She is the author of many articles and two monographs: Gilles Rousselet et la gravure d’interprétation au dix-septième siècle (2005) and L’illustration des thèses à Paris dans la seconde moitié du XVIIe siècle (2002). She has also been joint editor in chief of L’Estampe au grand siècle (2010), Voyage d’artistes en Italie du Nord XVIe-XIXe siècles (2010), A L’origine du livre d’art (2010), and La première œuvre. Arts et musique XVe-XXIe siècles (2014).
