Sancho Gaspar, José Luis

José Luis Sancho Gaspar has worked at Patrimonio Nacional as a researcher since 1986, nearly always for the department of Architectural Heritage and Property. His research work and publications have been focused on the architecture and gardens of the Spanish royal residencies, though he has also studied the interior decoration of these palaces, royal sponsorship and collecting, and various historical aspects of the Spanish court in the Modern Age. He has curated Carlos IV, mecenas y coleccionista (Madrid, 2009, with J. Jordán de Urríes), and prominent among his recent publications is De una corte a otra. Correspondencia íntima de los Borbones 1744‐1746 (2010, with M. Torrione).
