Nicola Spinosa has been Curator at the Polo Museale Napoletano and Director of the Museo Nazionale di Capodimonte. He has published several studies on Neapolitan painting of the fifteenth-nineteenth centuries, among them Pittura napoletana del Settecento: dal Rococò al Classicismo (1987) or Jusepe de Ribera: 1591-1652 (1992).
