José de Nebra’s album Responsorios de Navidad launched during the ‘Sinfonía de la mañana’ programme broadcast on Radio Clásica RNE
Radio Clásica RNE’s programme ‘Sinfonía de la mañana’ hosted the public launch of La Grande Chapelle’s album in San Jerónimo el Real in Madrid, where José de Nebra’s Christmas Responsories were originally performed in 1752 for King Ferdinand VI and Queen Barbara of Braganza. This church was also the venue for their modern-day premiere in a concert held in December 2023 under the direction of Albert Recasens and sponsored by the CEEH, Fundación Tatiana and the Centro Europeo de Música (CEM).
The release of the double CD album of the concert was announced in a special broadcast of the radio programme directed by well-known writer and journalist Martín Llade. It was recorded in this Madrid church in front of a live audience and with the participation of the people and organisations that made it possible:
Eva Sandoval, director of Radio Clásica RNE, scholar of José de Nebra and author of the CD’s booklet
Albert Recasens, musicologist, artistic director of La Grande Chapelle and the Lauda record label
Isabel Durán, general coordinator of the CEEH
Álvaro Matud, academic director and director of institutional relations at Fundación Tatiana
