Álamo, Constancio del

Constancio del Álamo has been curator of Archaeology, Sculpture and Textiles at the Hispanic Society of America in New York since 1989. He studied Philosophy and Theology at the monasteries of Santo Domingo de Silos (Spain) and Saint Pierre de Solesmes (France) and Art History and Geography at the UNED in Madrid. At the Hispanic Society he has organised many exhibitions, among them El tesoro arqueológico de la Hispanic Society of America, which travelled to Alcalá de Henares and Seville (2008−9). He also collaborated on the show L’art dels velluters. Sedería de los siglos XV-XVI (2011). He is the author of Silos, cien años de historia (1880-1980) (1983) and El claustro románico de Silos (1984) and has written articles and many entries for catalogues and exhibitions on medieval art.
