Lisa A. Rotmil received her PhD from the Institute of Fine Arts after completing her dissertation, entitled The Artistic Patronage of Anne of Austria (1601-1666): Image-Making at the French Court. She has assisted Sarah Faunce with her catalogue raisonné of the work of Gustave Courbet and is currently an independent scholar living in New York.
