Juan Bordes, an architect and lecturer at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura in Madrid, alternates teaching with creating sculptures, which have often been shown and are on view in various museums and public spaces. His research is focused on the connections between toys and avant-garde art, and literary sources related to architecture and the representation of the body, such as drawing primers and books on anatomy, physiognomy and proportion, which are in turn his main interests as a collector and bibliophile. As a result of all this he has been made a member of the Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando.
