D’haene, Virginie

Virginie D’haene is assistant-curator prints and drawings at the Museum Plantin-Moretus in Antwerp. She joined the museum after having held the same position at the Groeningemuseum in Bruges. During her early career in the printrooms of the Museo Nacional del Prado and the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, she developed a passion for Netherlandish and Flemish old master drawings, which has become her main speciality. She contributed to various scientific catalogues and journals, among which Master Drawings, and presented at conferences in Berlin, Cambridge, Copenhagen, Rotterdam and Madrid. In Bruges and Antwerp, she curated several exhibitions on old master prints. She is the editor and contributing author of the catalogue European Old Master Drawings from the Bruges Printroom (2019).
